We received this email message below from our driver on December 24th. We wanted to share this awesome testimony straight from the road.
December 24, 2014
About 3 am mountain time this morning, I was driving a remote stretch of I-90 in Montana. Way up ahead I saw flashing blue lights. Even though it was way, way off and I really couldn’t tell on the winding roads whether it was even on the interstate, I slowed my speed and kept watching. Every time I’d wind around, I would see the blue lights getting closer. I slowed more. Finally, I could see there was an accident of some sort on the other side. Still, wanting to “leave myself an out” I slowed even more. At the exact same instant that I saw the overturned semi, a severe gust of wind came out I nowhere and hit my truck so hard, it felt and sounded like I had been broadsided by a freight train.
Had I not taken the Smith System class and was looking ahead, there is no doubt I would have been the overturned semi on the other side of the road. The gusts had come out of nowhere. It wasn’t windy. No warnings. I always check ahead before I roll. Thank you, Paul [Cotter], for emphasizing in my class the need to look ahead and leave myself an out. Since the driver of the overturned semi had to be cut out of his truck, you probably saved me from a similar outcome! Thank you training department for proving life saving tools for the road!
Merry Christmas!
