COMPANY TRUCK DRIVING JOBS
Start your career on the open road. Prime offers you a choice of company truck driving jobs with great pay and outstanding benefits. Choose from Prime’s refrigerated, tanker and flatbed divisions.
DRIVER TYPES
As a company driver, you’ll earn money based on the number of miles you drive with the ability to earn more through performance incentives. Prime will provide you with the truck and equipment needed to succeed out on the road as a company truck driver.
OVER-THE-ROAD DRIVERS
Over-the-road drivers are typically on the road 3-4 weeks at a time. If you’re interested in getting paid to travel and see the country, over-the-road driving is for you.
DEDICATED DRIVERS
If you live in or near any of the below cities, you may be eligible for a dedicated route with Prime. Dedicated drivers stay within a 300-mile radius and enjoy weekly (or more frequent) home time. Ask your recruiter for more details on dedicated truck driving opportunities.

REFRIGERATED DRIVERS
Starting pay for solo company drivers is 50 cents per mile plus an additional 5 cents per mile with a lightweight tractor (based on equipment availability).
Starting pay for team drivers is 69 cents per mile split.
Earn 26 cents bonus per mile for miles between 3,000-3,999 per week.
Earn 31 cents bonus per mile for miles over 4,000 per week.

FLATBED DRIVERS
Starting pay for solo company drivers is 52 cents per mile.
Starting pay for team drivers is 67 cents per mile split.
Earn 26 cents bonus per mile for miles between 3,000-3,999 per week.
Earn 31 cents bonus per mile for miles over 4,000 per week.
57 CPM & Up!
TANKER DRIVERS
Starting pay for solo company drivers is 57 cents per mile.
Starting pay for team drivers is 70 cents per mile split.
Earn 26 cents bonus per mile for miles between 3,000-3,999 per week.
Earn 31 cents bonus per mile for miles over 4,000 per week.
MAJOR MEDICAL & DENTAL INSURANCE
Prime wants drivers to stay healthy. That’s why Prime provides company drivers with options for health insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance plans.
LIFE INSURANCE
Prime offers drivers a life insurance policy available to company drivers. If anything happens to you, your life insurance policy will assist with your family’s financial security and well-being.
401K SUCCESS SHARING PLAN
Prime does everything it can to set drivers up for success in life. Through the 401(k) Success Sharing plan, Prime will help you save for retirement. Company drivers are eligible to participate after 6 months of employment. Prime will match $1 for $1 on the first 3% you contribute and $0.50 on the $1 on the next 2% you contribute. Your money is immediately vested.
PAID VACATION
It’s important that drivers are well-rested, and that’s why Prime offers paid vacation to all company drivers.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be a company driver at Prime, there are some qualifications you must meet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old
- Applicants must have a valid CDL from the state that they declare to be their point of permanent domicile
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and meet the Homeland Security/Transportation Administration requirements
- Applicants must have the ability to obtain a United States passport
- Applicants must demonstrate a stable work history and have good references
- Applicants must have NO record of abandoned trucks at previous employers
CRIMINAL HISTORY
An affirmative answer to the questions regarding criminal record will not automatically result in the denial of employment. An applicant’s criminal record will be evaluated based on the job for which the applicant has applied.
DOCUMENTS
In addition to a CDL and the successful completion of Prime’s orientation program, applicants must carry and present one or more of the following:
- US passport
- State-certified copy of birth certificate
- INS paperwork that shows US citizenship or that permanent alien residence has been established and is current
Potential drivers should also be prepared to apply for a TWIC card if they do not already possess one.
TRAINING
Get paid while training for a new career. Prime will walk you through every step of the way — applying, training, and your first day on the job.
NEED A CDL?
Attend orientation at one of Prime’s training facilities in Springfield, MO or Salt Lake City, UT. After orientation, get on the road and train with a CDL instructor for 2-4 weeks before taking your CDL Exam. After earning your CDL, you’ll be paid $700 per week for the remainder of training as long as you are available to drive.
ALREADY HAVE A CDL?
You’ll attend Company Driver Orientation and train with a TNT trainer for 40,000 miles. You’ll be paid a minimum of $600 per week for the initial 20,000 training miles and $700 per week for the duration of your training as long as you are available to drive.
EXTRA INCENTIVES
In addition to your paycheck and benefits, Prime offers additional driver incentives to stay fuel-efficient, drive safely, and more.
FUEL BONUSES
Company drivers earn incentives for reaching weekly fuel efficiency goals.
TEAM INCENTIVE PAY
Company team drivers earn:
26 additional cents per mile for all miles between 3,000-3,999 per week
31 additional cents per mile for all miles above 4,000 per week
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
Recent CDL school graduates who join Prime as the first driving company can receive up to $1,500 in tuition reimbursement. Ask your recruiter for more info.

HOW THIS WORKS
APPLICATION PROCESS

APPLY ONLINE
The first step to becoming a Prime driver is to apply online. The application will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and can be filled out on a mobile device or desktop computer.

CONNECT WITH A RECRUITER
You might have a lot of questions about driving for Prime. We want to answer them! Contact a recruiter, and we’ll answer any questions or concerns and walk you through the rest of the application process.
03.
APPLICATION REVIEW & PROCESSING
A Prime recruiter will ensure you meet Prime’s qualifications and will confirm interest and your preferred start date. Your application will be processed, and we’ll run the Motor Vehicle Report, CDLIS, DAC and background reports. Our team will verify your last 3 years of employment and/or education.
04.
PRIME ORIENTATION
Once approved, you will receive an orientation letter with more information on the orientation process, what to pack, and what to expect. Prime will cover your hotel stay and 3 hot meals every day during orientation. You’ll complete a DOT physical and drug test, interview, computer-based training, and simulator training.
